      Solid pay/benefits, bright colleagues, stimulating work. Minimal cutthroat BS for a pharma company.

      Cons

      More red tape than ideal, but to be expected in this industry.

      Pros

      I've worked at Merck for 7 years. I've consistently had great co-workers and feel passionate about my job and impact on patients. My managers are flexible and I often work from home if my children are sick. There is not a negative stigma if you need to schedule your work around your children as long as you get the work done.

      Cons

      I often feel as though I need to work in the evenings to keep up. As a manager my days are filled with meetings and the time to actually do work at my desk is low. Annual downsizing has negatively impacted the culture and there is attrition of a lot of great people .
