Pros

Brand name and CEO who left

Cons

Toxic workplace at Merck SSF. Agree with some of the other negative reviews. They constantly divide employees on the basis of race and gender through clubs, meetings and guest speakers. They do not value real scientific experience and expertise and frankly I am not sure how they will deliver anything out of SSF.

Pros

Interesting scientific work High impact to human health Well compensated (not highest in the industry, but still high paying) Flexible work environment (fully WFH throughout COVID pandemic)

Cons

Other large pharmaceutical firms pay more, which makes some talented coworkers go elsewhere for the extra income.
