Salary is competitive. Relatively stress free. Easy commute. Managers are open to flexible and alternative schedules, if needed. Enjoyed working there

Cons

Somewhat worrysome job security in light of the Vioxx recall of a few years ago. Vacation days are kept to a minimum

Pros

Merck has great benefits and the salary is pretty good. You get to work with extremely bright colleagues. The company still really values the science.

Cons

Trust is an issue right now for employees because of the impending lay offs. Employees are afraid to speak up because of the possible retribution. Similiar to any large company, the politics are pretty difficult.
