People were good at Schering

Pros

Some of the best reasons to work at Schering were the good people. Every department was filled with them. It was a big company with a small company feel.

Cons

Some of the downsides of working at Schering Plough were the lack of communication in some departments. There are things that I found out as an employee of the company from an outside source.

Not same Merck anymore. It's WHO you know who can protect your position. Employee is just a number, dispensable.

Great severance package. Fair in compensation.

Cons

Low morale. Sad to watch people suck up to managers to protect their jobs or rate them high during differentiation. It's all about profit. Employee is now just a number unless you're a scientist who discover a new drug then you're safe inside the lab.

Its the Corporate atmosphere of a New York City Headquarters located in scenic Hunterdon County, NJ, so NO COMMUTE. Competitive salary, great benefits, long term employees (who haven't yet been forced to retire)

Cons

There is no advancement available here for Administrative Assistant. You will watch all the people around you whom you work for get promotions and you will forever be at your level, no matter what the added responsibilites are that you receive....
