Merck works for the people and it is very rewarding to make vaccine products and medicine that can change lives.

Cons

It is a bit stressful at times and there is a lot of work load put on engineers.

Pros

The main advantage of work at Merck Frosst research is the relative lack of budget restrictions. With that feature, scientists were able to focus on the work and collaborate really well. There were no unanswered questions due to budgets. Very different than most enterprises.

Cons

A small subsidiary of a large corporation means harmonisation, management at arms-length and forced global initiatives. If you can get past those things, then a great place to work.

Great pay, good products. Very smart people with a strong desire to do the right thing. Ethical and a strong focus on improving health.

Cons

Employees not encouraged to innovate. Too much "follow the leader," to stay off the radar for my taste. Poor communication with employees.
