Pros

Decent benefits package; vacation starts with 3 weeks. Insurance premiums are competitive to other companies. Flex time is recognized and encouraged, as is volunteer service that can be counted toward work time.

Cons

Not a lot of room for upward mobility. Promotions are hard to come by even with excellent performance reviews

Pros

Benefits are above average compare with other pharma companies in the same category. Pipeline and lincencing seem to have taen a turn for the better but if new products/compounds fail to be approved Merck will be back at point before the merger.

Cons

Please think hard about looking here. There are other pharma companies out there,the culture assimilation after the merger will take time. This can lead to max exodus once the economy turns. The majority of people recent the merger and would likely leave if times where different.

Pros

This wasa a great place to work because of the people, the facility, the available research equipment and the quality of work that was produced. Work ethics and efficiency shown by the group was the model dreamed of by the whole company.

Cons

We were not located in the US, so we were considered an off shore site. This was always a challenge for us. We needed to work extra hard to get our ideas accepted by the US sites.
