Pros
Excellent and rapid feedback. Managers contribute to solving problems, particularly with their access to higher levels of approval or management. Very accommodating to personal needs.
Cons
Most IT work outsourced to India. Requirements gathering, and some architecture, for all large projects done in-house, but then engineering and actual development outsourced. Very cumbersome process for getting anything done by corporate IT. Many departments hire their own IT people, but under misleading titles, to get smaller projects done in-house. Most remaining engineering and coding done by on-site contractors.
