Pros

There are a lot of projects that you get to work on. You see a lot of things that other people wouldn't see in other jobs. This helps grow your career by being more well rounded. You have to be proactive though as opportunities will not be handed to you.

Cons

Low compensation raises once at Mercer. Sometimes long hours, but it is the nature of the business.

Pros

Learning opportunities at Mercer are excellent. There are several types of learning available. Mercer doesn't just pay lip service to work-life balance. Opportunities are available at every level. Compensation and benefits are strong. Mercer has good tools and advocates the building of strong, close-knit teams.

Cons

Career growth could be better. There is typically not enough feedback and recognition from those above supervisory level, in my experience. The review system could use some work. Parent company is having some trouble and the trickle-down effect is troubling. But overall Mercer is a strong company.

Pros

The best thing about working at Mercer was the work life balance - people weren't chained to their desk until really late. The team in which I worked had really good social events and we worked well together as a result. The London Mercer office building is a really good place to be based

Cons

The worst thing about Mercer is the slow decision making, it would take months to get things done. It was also quite difficult to progress quickly up the career ladder and the promotion process was not very transparent. Another issue was the lack of communication from senior management.
