Pros

Life at Maru/Matchbox is fun, exciting, collaborative, team oriented and innovative. The people who make up this organization are amazing and passionate about their work. Even though we're are somewhat of a "start up" we have very deep roots in the Research industry. It's the type of place where your opinion is not only heard, but taken into account when making strategic decision. As individuals, we feel that we have the freedom to do what we think is best for the growth of the organization.

Cons

We do work hard, which sometimes can lead to longer hours. But we also have a great social culture which balances the hard work that we put in throughout the week.

Departments are too focused on their own goals.

Pros

Start-up, if you enjoy that sort of environment Good co-workers Good office location, lots of transit options

Cons

Low salary compared to general market and industry standards Products offered are not measuring up to the competitive market Lack of balance in the company, some work extremely late, while others leave early No compensation for working overtime Poor management decisions made repetitively, impacting the company and people negatively A lot of say, but not much do Lack of transparency and bonding with executive management/CEO No collaboration. Teams are too focused on their individual goals with little or no regard to the big picture, often causing friction or obstacles and lack of agreements internally Management too focused on pure numbers without helping employees remove roadblocks Company leans for short term solutions over long term ones An abundance of politics Employees are regarded as resources/tools more than people

Pros

Freedom to create your own work/life balance. Open to new ideas. Values hard work. Still a lot of building to do.

Cons

Still figuring out a grand strategy for growth. Tapping into the extensive knowledge and ideas within the company. Breaking down team silos for better collaboration.
