Pros

Well if your lucky to get a bonus then that is one of the best reason to work at Marsh USA inc.

Cons

Lack of communitcation, leadership, ownership of responsability. Micromanagement... i.e. what did you do yesterday , why did it take you an hour to complete a project that should have only taken u 15 mins. Having supervisors walk around to ensure your at your desk. Losing best talent because no money, yet Marsh had one of the best years in 2009.

Pros

MMA as the largest insurance agency in the world has vast industry expertise but it’s highly unlikely you will be trained. If you are established already and just looking for a place to live our your last years in the industry you will fit right in.

Cons

If you are looking for a “sales” job where you are rewarded for hard work and bringing new ideas to the table, this is not the place for you. They look for “Producers” that tow the company line and don’t complain about being severely understaffed. You will likely service all of your clients needs because they are constantly “at capacity” and cannot provide a service team for the accounts you bring in the door. However, If you are a white man you will likely get first chance at having those resources - extra points if you golf all week rather than do your actual job. In terms of sales talent at the organization it’s fairly nonexistent. Most of the Producers have gained large books and titles off of retirements. They are constantly churning the accounts they win due to service issues and lack off innovation but pretend that their retention numbers are high by manipulating revenue projections. Your support staff will be so underpaid they will be constantly turning over as they can get 20k more in salary at other firms once they have 2 years of experience. They also will be so overworked and burned out that the work product you will deliver to your clients is subpar you are essentially selling them a lie. Their recruiters will tell you that they have industry value adds but their compensation consulting team quit in 2018, they have no in house global benefits support, they have one team that specializes in self funding and they are severely overworked, the technology team has all left and so on…

Pros

Large global company, great place to learn the business, lots of tools & services internally to help with the position.

Cons

Pays under market. I have spoken to so many co workers who have left or had to try to leave to negotiate a higher wage. Will do anything else other than pay employees what a fair wage would be for their role. (e.g. ice cream parties, pizza parties, lots of catering, but will not pay equitably, even when promoting roles).
