Pros

Compensation and benefits are comparable to market.

Cons

Was promised great "work-life balance" and flexibility only to be questioned and guilted into working on PTO days and cancelling doctor appointments. Any company that monitors "badge swipes" to ensure you're in at least 3-4 days a week is not a company I'd like to work for; what a great way to show how much you trust and value your employees. You have an absentee VP that has given the Director free reign over the department. The Director has done an amazing job creating a toxic work environment(which can only be described as very Squid Game-ish) micro managing every individual on the team and pinning each Manager against each other. Not to mention the condescending and sarcastic remarks that you'll be met with from the Director on a daily basis. You'll receive every criticism in the book but you'll never be met with an ounce of positive gratification; you're nothing but a number to this team, this team is a revolving door. If given an offer to join this team don't walk, run away!

Pros

Internal departments worked with are professional, effective and clear of time lines. Inter-departmental cooperation synergizes very well. Internal systems are well thought and set up. Trainings set up are comprehensive and coherent. Staff welfare from Top management seems thoughtful.

Cons

Lack of integrity of manager - Customer complains about her sitting on things and she pushes the blame to anyone but herself. Claims to have done a lot of work but with minimal evidence of work done. Lack of technical knowledge of manager - Does not take up the reigns to advise internal/external stakeholders on technical aspects of the cover and prefers to postbox underwriter's reply, IF she does work. Manager's preference to micro-manage instead of delegation of work, so as to try to cover up what has not been previously done properly, if any. Manager operates administratively weak, cutting of email threads and sending fresh email, lack of contract certainty. Severe moral hazard observed where she will defensively twist situations in her favour as long as she can get away with it. Absolute lack of accountability of manager - in the words of the client, all talk and no action. This is an E&O waiting to happen.

Pros

Its a good company. Top in its field. Upper management knows to be profitable it has to retain its people. They do this by giving competitive salaries and good employee benefits. Periodically they send surveys to better understand the morale of the employees but also to see if there is anything they should add or change in the benefits to the employees. They care and they show it.

Cons

Due to restructuring in the department there was no work/life balance. Long hours were required with little or no compensation for them.
