      Pros

      Management is willing invest in continuing education, however, be aware that it is expected to be completed on your own time.

      Cons

      Poor middle management, lack of transparency on decisions, performance review process is biased and not focused on merits, lack of investment in resources to help you do your job well, organization-wide/systemic problem, and opportunity for advancement is minimal at best. Overall, culture is selfish and focused on results only.

      low salary because they brought jobs to Austin, TX

      I'm a bit confused about the comment on 'bringing jobs to Austin'. We've had a fairly large presence in the Austin area for many years so this isn't new. We are there because there is a fantastic talent market. Lots of things go into determining compensation - market conditions, business performance and individual performance. Sounds like it might not have been clear how we determine salaries and that is unfortunate as I see we now lost a longer term colleague.

      On the whole a decent place to work, but extremely political so not always a meritocracy.

      Pros

      Good big company benefits. Working hours are generally ok, flexible working is accommodated. Not the best paying company but not the worst either.

      Cons

      Very political, poor HR strategy, too many mid level managers with enough say to prevent / stifle change. Good people often let go in favour of "yes men" in an old boys club.
