While our wages for Program Instructors and other direct support positions have increased by 46.8% since 2018, we agree with you - our employees and the work they do for the people we support are worth more. We have only been able to increase wages as we have because of the consistent advocacy efforts that our President & CEO, our employees, board members, and families make year after year with our state legislators. It is a priority of ours that they understand our value to not only the most vulnerable citizens in our community, but to the state as a whole. As you know from working here, we need employees to engage in this process with legislators - it is all of our jobs to educate them and advocate for fair and indexed wages. We will not stop until they hear us. Thank you for your service to Marrakech and the people we support. We appreciate all of our employees and understand that we would not be able to do what we do without you.

We are so sorry to hear you felt you had to leave your employment at Marrakech and that you did so with a negative impression of the organization after working here for more than 5 years. We are very proud of the fact that to date in the current fiscal year, 76.19% of our promotional opportunities have been filled by internal applicants, which is already higher than last year's 70.73%. We also just created a new Talent & Engagement Specialist position to specifically work with our internal staff on their career paths and professional development here. This is very important to us. And just to clarify the internal hiring process, while Human Resources processes internal applications, it is the hiring managers at the various sites who make all hiring recommendations. Finally, as you know from your abuse and neglect training, stealing from the individuals is considered financial exploitation and falls under the mandatory reporting rules to the Abuse Investigations Division (AID - if this was a person funded by the Department of Developmental Services), or at the very least, to our Risk Management department so we can report and investigate it.
