Pros

Technically, if you sit there and do what they say, you get paid. There is a clear move upward, even if it means making your career there. Some good people work there

Cons

- No work/life balance - No appreciation for your time as an employee - Mediocre pay for hours (days last until 7, but at the discretion of your supervisor) - Uninteresting, arbitrarily done projects -- you'll feel like you're wasting your time while wishing you could do something else. - Lots of sitting around and doing nothing while they make you feel bad about it. I don't know which was worse, the days in which I had absolutely nothing to do and then was berated for doing nothing, or the days where I had really boring, mindless work to do that yielded no results because the project was terrible from the beginning - Management doesn't know how to give direction or manage - Advice to recent grads: take another job! keep looking! don't settle for this!! Keep in mind, this consulting company does not get good projects. When you think of consultants, you usually think of people who need to solve a problem that the company cannot solve itself. With these projects, the company can solve them, but they're just so tedious, uninteresting, and terrible, they hire a lower tier consulting firm to do it for them. I've never had someone say "I love my project." The best I've ever heard was "It's not that bad this time."

Pros

Can attract strong candidates and give you good exposure to a couple of top firms. Firm has tried a couple of things to improve and adapt. The firm has a strong brand in Spain and can command high fees for services but this all stays at the top.

Cons

Senior management lack integrity and honesty required for a professional firm and will regularly lie to its employees. Pay is uncompetitive for the industry leading to a lack of motivation and a high turnover of staff. Management do not feel the need to tackle this issue as they know there will be new graduates keen to step in to fill the gaps that are all too common. Spanish expat employees will receive benefits and flats paid for in London which will often take their total package to 3/4x from that of a local. They are sent to London office quite regularly and are given better management and project overview responsibilities ahead of majority of locals at same level; regardless of experience and background. Of the 32 senior partners in the firm 91% are Spanish and the remainder are from Spanish speaking countries. Firm progression to the top as a non-Spanish individual is therefore very limited and unlikely. Most projects are operational and back office, where the firm acts more as an outsourcing company rather than a true consulting firm. However there are a few good projects from time to time that are strategic if you are lucky but don't expect these to be a regular occurrence.
