Pros

-Flexible scheduling -Good job for high school students/good as a first job -Decent employee discounts -Cool coworkers

Cons

-Pay is way to low for the amount of work you have to do. Tips are too inconsistent to justify such a low hourly wage. -Party Hosts are probably the most mistreated employees. It's hard to get along with the other departments. -Hectic environment. Sometimes parties can be a nightmare to deal with, especially when parents are rude or kids don't listen. - Hours are inconsistent. You can have a full day of three parties one weekend to only having one party the next. -High turnover rate

We appreciate you taking time to leave your feedback! Being in the family industry we strive to make things as consistent and smooth as possible, however, people are unpredictable, especially when dealing with birthday parties and events where emotions are higher. We are disappointed to hear that you were made to feel mistreated. We have taken steps to get more people from HR do check-ins and hope that team members will express any concerns on the front end. Thank you for everything that you are doing for us!

Pros

Rate of new center openings is appealing.

Cons

Very little structure of clear path for advancement. Over the first two years of a center you would expect a cohesive management team to form. What they have are managers with personal agendas who are jockeying for a favorable position taking precedent over everything else. Whatever mess they leave in their wake does not follow them and their promotion to a new location. I've seen managers sabotage other managers. Favor towards employees lasts only as long as the immediate need. Employees lured from good jobs at other companies with promises that are dropped when their immediate use is up. Managers career paths were woefully unequal. I saw a managers best friend hired and catapult past other tenured managers. You can tell your place in the pecking order by your shifts. GM has nearly all opens. The gravy shift with weekdays almost all office time. Those not in favor get all closes. Long and Busy with up to 10 hours on the move.

Pros

Main Event provides you with 50% discounts on the food and games, which is nice. And you get benefits for health. I like the tuition reimbursement program as well. The job itself is repetitive, but overall it's decent. You are taking phone calls, booking events, and sending out emails. You will have to be organized and detail-oriented for this job. You are dealing with the public a lot, and basically helping people schedule their birthday parties, youth group events, and corporate parties. The department I worked in was very chill, and had a good group of people so that was really nice.

Cons

The rest of the staff was very gossipy and childish. There was a lot of finger pointing at other departments if something went wrong. Outside of your own department it really wasn't much of a team atmosphere. You also have to deal with a lot of customers who hurl verbal abuse at you sometimes.
