- Processes and a broken application landscape are more important than people and get in the way of actual work and progress. - Too many locals who have been in their position for 5-10 years, are very complacent, have no ambitions and sabotage anyone who has them. - "We have always done it this way", in IT this means almost no automation, instead new teams are formed for manual labour so the locals can play little empire builders. - Training and travel budget was slashed for IT, so unless you are one of the bootlickers of the managers you are not getting any of that.

I was scouted to join msd, only to be let go in a restructure. If I had known that this company history of major restructures yearly there is no way I would have moved. I wish I had never spoken to the person who recruited me, no doubt they probably got a spotter bonus for ruining my career.
