Interesting projects
Opportunity to wear many "hats" (analysis + testing)
Cons
At MDA, people tend to become generalists, not specialists.
Pay could be better, but this can be said for the entire industry in Montreal (and possibly Canada). After 3-5 years, it may start to feel repetitive.
-Very interesting work. -Can be hands on if you choose. -Great coworkers and company culture. -Good mentoring from experienced engineers. -Unlimited sick leave. -Possibility to bank time is great.
Cons
-HR often don't respond to emails (overworked). -HR and engineers union are often in conflict. -Having a union representing engineers can be a double edged sword. Salary brackets are clearly defined by the union so not much wiggle room for negociation of salary. -Very little vacation (2 weeks a year).
