I worked at MDA as a co-op student in 2018 first and stayed for more Co op terms until I was hired full time afterwards in about 2020. They even let me work here while in school part time between work terms which as a mature student I needed badly. Since then things went great I was a good performer and got raises and promotions as usual. Eventually my life collapsed and I was horribly addicted to opioids, $400 a day just to make from start to end without slipping into withdrawal, 115k a year habit or so. I approached MDA about this and I was told to take paid leave under the sickness program/short term disability. I had to do this several times and each time i would have a couple months of good work before id skip back into the trap and then need STD again. The support I received was greater than I would have ever imagined. The last time I got on STD I went to rehab, I've been sober for 7 months now and I thank this company for everything they've done to help. I am finally at the point where I do not think I will ever slip back into opioid addiction, I had seizures and almost died coming off as there was poly use going on as I needed anxiolytic medication to stop and the medication required to stop was very addictive on its own, drugs similar to alcohol where the withdrawals are fatal and can cause seizures. Worked with my doctor to reduce this medication slowly as trying to stop all at once made me slip into a psychotic episode of some kind and respiratory distress as my heart rate was 180 and I was rapidly breathing requiring an injection of the above medication. MDA the entire time was so supportive, more supportive than friends and family. I was surprised and no matter what happens after this I will never forget the support I received from MDA. Highly recommend this company I truly don't think I could gotten through this period of my life without their support

It was great all around. Training is a bit light but I feel you learn so much deeper if you have to "train" yourself on the codebase. But there are mentors and people who will help you if you ask
