Pros

$1 pancake on friday, aside from that, very little.

Cons

This company does not foster collaboration in their teams, everyone is given their own work package and an allocated time budget to finish the task. Taking time away from yourself to help another coworker is inherently 'punished' since you're wasting your own allocated time. Managers don't care for your career development. you better hope that your supervisor will fight for you because if not, you won't be seeing yourself progressing up the ladder. pay is below market value.

Pros

The people are wonderful and help each other grow.

Cons

Pay sucks, some departments are extremely bored and underutilized while others are overworked and burnt out. The engineers are unionized and negotiations are extremely stressful whenever they occur. The company doesn't think we're worth a fair wage and upper management is awful, taking a 20% pay raise and telling employees tough luck when asking for a raise to alleviate the effects of inflation. I've never had a 1:1 with my manager. He has no idea what I actually do. I was promised challenging technical work and was given documentation to do. People are extremely unproductive. Most work an actual 2-3 hours per day and the rest is wasted time, either due to useless meetings or socialization. The software systems used are extremely outdated and frustrating. Rumors speculate we'll be going back to 5 days in office once we move in the new year. They refuse to give an actual reason why we need to be in 3 days a week at the moment when most employees agree it's harming their productivity. Brampton also sucks for commuting. There's also a train track that basically blocks the entire area for 20ish minutes if you get unlucky timing when you leave work.

Pros

- Nice time off schedule - Smart and nice coworkers - Cool space programs

Cons

- HR is absolutely terrible they kick their heels at the thought of doing any little activity that falls under their job purvue. They are also really slow at giving out important job related information (I essentially had to learn everything related to my onboarding l through digging around myself or asking my coworkers). It's also ironic because they get frustrated and mad when you ask them or follow up for things as if you're inconveniencing them by asking them to do their job - The overall structure with management does not really make sense and often impedes program progress - Benefits and salary are also subpar compared to the industry
