Pros

- free coffee onsite. - The new building is modern and bright - cool and advanced projects

Cons

- Unhealthy competition among employees to show off themselves in order to get promotion. - low salaries compared to job market -to become a senior member, your manager decision is important no matter how many years experience you got. - A toxic work environment. - You meet line managers perhaps 2 times a year. -

Pros

The pay is okay (pretty average) and health benefits are pretty good. The projects are interesting and you get exposure to a lot of different tools and technologies. The cafeteria provides breakfast and lunch for ~$10/meal. The breakfast menu is always good but the lunch is usually very bland (you're going to need that salt on the tables). I would recommend the sandwiches. The MDA swag is cool (you get a jacket now when you join) and almost everyone gets their own office.

Cons

They don't match RRSP for the first year, and you have to give the signing bonus back if you leave within 2 years (it's usually within 1 year from what I've heard). Workshops and events are on your own time and unpaid (even the mandatory ones). It's not a government job but it sure feels like one seeing how slow progress is due to our main client being the government. The timecards start to feel a bit micro-managed since you need to have a charge code for everything you do. The environment is VERY silo and isolated since a lot of the projects are classified so we can't about them outside of our teams. Everyone just stays in their office and no one wants to participate in the unpaid events (understandable). The company seems to lack diversity (my team is entirely made up of white men). I've noticed you're either only there for a couple months or you're there for 30 years - there's no in between.
