Pathetic place to work for

Pros

This organization has a good culture from the headquarters. The vision to become the best home improvement company is cherished highly with a lot of focus. Flexible work culture, free food and transport are a couple of things to be highlighted.

Cons

Vision without proper decision making. Indecisive leaders and management is something that people should beware of. Employees need to be aware of the very dangerous HR team in the India organization. There are good HR processes laid out but the HR team here is a mouthpiece of management and deviates quite a bit.

Pros

Some nice associates but don't last. This is where bad managers go to die.

Cons

Untrained management, understaffed stores, hostile work environment, unethical management, schedule changes without notification, unhealthy environment. Legal department does not follow State laws. No functioning HR department. They outsource everything in order to line their own pockets. DO NOT TRUST THE "OPEN DOOR POLICY" It's a TRAP and will get you FIRED!

Pros

The people are fantastic for what remains of the original family-owned and then employee-owned company, though thinning considerably as the stockholder perspective thins out their ranks.

Cons

Stockholder driven so layoffs are regular. Went from being over-leveraged with contractors, to instead building their own resource company in Bangalor, India. So US folks are being layed off once they train their replacements in Bangalor. Official new releases say they are "rebalancing" their global resources, but there were no global resources until they decided to replace the US employees with India resources. Once they started hiring in India, they locked down the hiring in US and over the past 2 years have been eliminating the US positions as they bring the India resources on-line. Last couple of years has been CEO centric ... everything is about executive bonuses. Sad to see, it was really a fantastic company, but no more.
