Pros

Very laid back atmosphere. You work independently, maybe with a "to-do" list written by your department manager. Those on the floor have a lot more freedom than those on the front end. You get to go to break and lunch basically whenever you want, as long as you have coverage during those busier hours. Everyone at my location is very friendly. Some have been working there for 16 years when the store opened and there's a "family feel" to the workplace

Cons

1 weekend off a month max. And sometimes scheduling rotations get messed up and you may not have a weekend for 6 weeks or so. There is room to move up, but management seems to know who they want before applications before even start coming in. 9 hour work days because of 1 hour unpaid lunch.

Pros

Great coworkers with a lot of passion for the job and who do consistently excellent work. The culture is very positive and the vibe is laid back while the work quality remains consistently high and the output rate consistently fast. No micromanaging, you are expected to do your own work and keep on top of your own responsibilities. Low-level leads and managers are generally very reasonable, pleasant people who offer good suggestions but let the experts drive from below. Job security is relatively high especially for tech. The culture is pro-diversity, with numerous women and people of color in positions of authority.

Cons

Senior leadership makes bad decisions based on their own emotions and preferences. The bigwigs want people in the office so they're making people come to the office, even though the majority of employees are against it and there's not enough parking. "It will work itself out." The bigwigs bought a big fancy lab full of gadgets that are fancy but not very useful and expect us to figure out how to make it make money. People at the top decide actually we're focusing on xyz for this quarter or want to save money by eliminating abc and everybody at the bottom is stuck picking up the slack. The company would run better if everybody above director level just did nothing. While the culture is overall liberal-leaning, people tend to roll their eyes openly about "political correctness."
