Pros

Lockheed provides a great learning environment and ability to take on an increasing level of responsibility. Promotions came slowly at the site I worked at since it was unionized but management was very cognizant of your performance level and did the best they could to promote you.

Cons

I worked at one of the very few sites where the engineering staff was unionized. This really shackled management's hands in a number of ways. Promotions and bonuses are all driven by letters of understand and approved by the union. The union has the interests of the poor to mediocre employees at heart. Don't work at a unionized site if you are looking to be rewarded for all-star efforts.

Pros

The company pays very well. They allow you to work from home if possible for your job. Have a nice environment to be apart of.

Cons

Lacked some communication with my manager. I believe that it was because I was her first intern and it was my first real job.

Pros

I am proud to work for LM in support of US national defense. It is an ethical place to work and they support a work life balance.

Cons

They are in a battle to contain costs with pay and benefits suffering. If you are going for a Corp job you may be OK but on a specific program they are fierce about containing cost. HR Compensation team will try to low ball you, never accept their first offer. Pay for performance looks more like a cost of living increase ~2% My division, IS&GS had aggressive growth and profit goals in 2009, they did not meet them so the first thing they do is cut employee morale events and the Christmas party. Thanks, our program was in the black but we still have jobs right? Well then they announce they eliminated vacation buy, a major perk for newer employees. Then they rollout a corporate healthcare plan with mandated maximum program funding, the result was my healthcare premium jumped 60% and thousands higher in deductable. I am happy to have a job, but when times are tough, LM has chosen to stick it to their employees. It seems that management has put the priority on profit margin at the expense of the people. Good thing LM was able to buyback at least 14M shares (worth a total of about $1B) and raise the dividend this year. I do not believe a company can sustain performance if they do not invest in their employees.
