Pros

Currently working in a fully remote Systems Engineer position at LM Space: pros include remote work, great work life balance, great pay, highly ethical culture & high-performing teams. Amply opportunity to grow and work on different government programs. Opportunity to work with different customers including the Navy, Army, Air Force, NASA, etc. Every manager I've had so far has been polite and fair. The Sikorsky line of business in particular has excellent Systems Engineering & Configuration Management processes.

Cons

Lack of budget for travel to different LM & customer sites. Government programs (even highly ambitious NASA programs) can be very inefficient. Some programs place too much emphasis on remote work at the expense of in-person collaboration, while other programs emphasize on-site work while nearly neglecting remote workers. I have never worked in a classified area, but I have heard working each day in a classified area can feel isolating.
