      Pros

      The flexible working times are great and means you can attempt to avoid the traffic. The on-site gym is basic but the staff there are really helpful and it is great value at just over ten pounds per month. Interesting projects and the potential to work across sites. Did deliver bonus for hard work on recent project and has increased overtime threshold to over £40k now, which means I can now claim overtime!

      Cons

      Traffic to basildon site is rubbish, but can be avoided somewhat with flexi. Getting training is hit and miss because of money limitations, however management is keen to help even though they can't always deliver. A lot of people were unable to start work on live projects due to issues with the parent company and budget allocation. Twiddling thumbs is a not a good way to start a year.

      Pros

      Selex offers a relaxed working environment with the potential to work on some very interesting projects if you make the right connections. The offices are modern and the engineering labs are well equipped. The people working there are generally friendly and approachable. If you are just starting your career in engineering then Selex offers a fantastic place to develop, although you will probably want to move on once you have picked up some experience.

      Cons

      The pay and career progression for engineers is poor and it feels like the business is run by HR. Annual reviews feel like a formality and have no effect even though the business places great importance on them. Due to the nature of the work the IT and internet access is heavily locked down, which can often get in the way and interfere with your productivity.
