      Great opportunities to work on government contracts

      Pros

      Great benefits, ethics, project management processes, reputation, technology available to employees, and professional performance management system. Empowerment is encouraged as well as entrepreneurial spirit.

      Cons

      Because this company works under many government contracts, these contracts must be re-bid from contact to contract (year to year or longer time periods if you are lucky). Since the contract has no guarantee of being continued, this is a negative - since positions can be eliminated in a relatively short period of time. If there are no similar jobs in your geographical area within the company, you are out of a job quickly. There may not be much HR assistance to find another position. Have to say, however, the job search assistance that did come from an external company DID provide much helpl.

      Pros

      Formally SAIC, good company to work for while employed.

      Cons

      Contract cuts and the company just layed off instead of being put on the bench. After 10 years of working for them, receiving good performance reviews and raises every year, I thought they would care more about placement in another position.
