Pros

Some people were really lovely, friendly and helpful. Sample safe particularly home furnishings. 9am-5pm.

Cons

I was excited to be joining Laura Ashley as I believed it to be a prestige brand with great history. Unfortunately, my excitement was quickly replaced by disappointment during my time at the company. The head office is in a dire state. The office gets really cold during winter. Staff are forced to use the portable heaters which don’t do much. Some people end up getting ill. Unfortunately, there’s no sick pay for the first 3 days. There is no investment in staff or the facilities. The carpets, chairs, computers and systems are so old. Even the processes are old. People are so used to doing things a certain way. The staff turnover is incredibly high. People leave every week. I witnessed so many great staff leave with their knowledge and experience. There are so many new faces every week. The head office is called the revolving door because of the amount of people that join and leave the company within a short time. There’s no flexibility. Staff are ruled by the clock. There’s no reward and recognition. You could be great at your job but don’t expect to be recognised for it. People basically stop trying because there’s simply no point. There hasn’t been any pay review. The management don’t seem to genuinely care about the staff that work for them. If you’re thinking of joining the company, I would advise you to don’t unless you’re after some experience. It’s a shame because they have a great brand with great history. They need to do more for staff
