Fabulous brands; insatiable appetite for perfection and genuine passion for brands and products seen from every level of employee - from production facilities to craftsmen, right up to board members.

Cons

Lack of team camaraderie, empathy. Vain, egocentric leadership in many brands. Extremely French corporate culture (particularly if you're based in Paris HQs/ maisons) where arrogance and loquacity are often valued over humility and ability. No work/ life balance and inflexible work arrangements mean many highly strung, overworked employees.

Entrepreneurship spirit. Highly focused and dedicated people. All management is result oriented and the level of seniority is high, and helps you to learn a lot at their contact.

Cons

Supporting functions are not considered for the value they bring to the company. To be good at what you do is clearly not enough. Building influence and alliances is key.
