Pros

Good attractive pay and amazing products

Cons

I've worked at L'Occitane for months and oh boy... the people and the management sucks. For a beauty brand that holds values of authenticity, sensoriality, respect, entrepreneurship and teamwork, their management in Singapore does not practise these. I am a POC in a company full of Chinese and there are so much unjust and bias towards their POC employees. First off, the higher ups and the staff in store speaks in their language in front of their POC colleagues instead of English. This is my first company that I worked with that disrespect and dismiss their POC staffs and they don't find anything wrong with that. Also, no teamwork. Everyone's just chasing for sales and are quick to point fingers when something goes wrong. What is so hard about speaking in English where everyone understands? If you wanna speak in your language to your colleague, make sure do it in private, not when there's a presence of POC colleagues. Secondly the training is awful. One of the manager at the MAIN store have no empathy for her new colleagues. We were pressured to know and understand all products and POS in 3 days, some of us actually cried and had a mental breakdown thanks to this lack of professionalism and understanding. Management and manager are full of rude and racial biases. The company is amazing, I stand with their beliefs but the management in Singapore is horrible. Screams Chinese privilege. They treat their POC employees differently than their own people. Its rude to be speaking in Chinese when a non Chinese is present in the room, like what's so hard about being a decent human being. Also not a single POC in their management, its all Chinese. Wheres the diversity in that?

Pros

Strong team spirit and upbeat atmosphere in the stores. They offer a great learning platform to keep employees well informed and excited about the brand. Although they encourage you to keep track of your personal goals and growth, it does not affect your salary as it is not commission based. In my opinion this resulted in a very healthy atmosphere on the sales floor where we all worked hard towards a common goal supporting each other. This was my first job in the USA as a European green card holder and it has been a wonderful experience!

Cons

I really can't name any. No complaints!
