Pros

Koch Business Solutions gives you the opportunity to work with all the different Koch companies. As an IT service provider, you are placed in a unique position to provide value to the Koch businesses. This exposure opens many opportunities for growth. My carrier has advanced through multiple promotions. I really enjoy working with people that are aligned with the MBM culture.

Cons

For those of us in KBS that work out of the Atlanta office, the commute can be challenging. I have learned to arrive early and leave promptly to deal with the traffic. The multiple transportation alternatives are a great advantage. I have started to like riding a bus to catch up on work, read, or take a nap.

Pros

Salary is decent. There is flexibility in your work hours and they try to promote good work-life balance. There is opportunity to learn.

Cons

Benefits leave a LOT of be desired, management has a "do as I say, not as a do" mentality. There is a lot of favoritism given to those who have been there for a long time. I have witnessed management have temper tantrums and behave very unprofessionally with no repercussions but when coworkers speak their mind or provide feedback they are penalized. I read and heard many negative things before joining the organization and didn't realize until at least six months in that my original perception was due to smoke and mirrors. I heard from individuals when I started that you must be one of the "chosen" ones in order to be successful in the organization and at the time I thought they were just disgruntled but have seen for myself over time that this is a true statement. The Company promotes career growth but I have seen others try to transfer to other departments and get shot down because there is too much of a revolving door in my department. It can be very cult-like. If you are willing to become a robot and "drink the Kool-Aid" then this is the place for you. If you are independent and do not like being micro-managed keep moving... There are no merit or annual increases. When a coworker inquired about an increase they were told that the Company only hires the best of the best so unless you do something that is better than perfect you will not see any increase or bonus.
