Pros

They appear on the outside to be a solid reputable corporation. Great website, great benefits, great training opportunities, great chance for promotion.

Cons

Once you are hired all that is a lie, all the management has recently been let go after a reorganization, managers of 20+ years are laid-off without any ????? No loyalty here when you are on the chopping block you are OUT. There is no training, you become a monkey, if you speak up you are gone in a matter of months. There no retaliation is a joke.

Pros

There are a lot of smart, talented, and hard-working people in the business tax groups and the corporate tax group. These people are a pleasure to work with.

Cons

Most of these smart, talented, and hard-working people report (directly or indirectly) to a group of middle managers. These middle managers are good at using buzz words from the Market Based Management philosophy, but they are not people who have knowledge or integrity. They are the type of people who call obvious failures "successes," because successful initiatives boost their bonus numbers. They tell people that they have "integrity to a fault" for trying to correct past problems, because identifying compliance gaps can cast doubt on past bonuses received. They tell people that their job depends on making these managers "look good," and when a problem can't be easily dismissed, these managers blame the business compliance teams, outside advisors, or others who can't push back. You would be foolish to work with these people.

Pros

The company follows a great set of values and guidelines. The Market-Based Management (MBM) is something this is intensely emphasized...and evaluated on. All business decisions are made based on MBM principles, but it fosters an environment of sound communication and knowledge share.

Cons

MBM also may cause projects to draw out too long, as in Koch culture everyone has an ability to challenge a decision. A common complaint is that we often do too much business "with ourselves"
