- For lack of a better word, there is an element of ostracism in regards to site staff, we are never invited to drinks or social events, this is seemingly restricted to the offices, even though we interact with the office based sales teams on a daily basis, I see this as a negative for both parties involved as some of the companies best operators are based on site.
- There is somewhat of a 'No' culture in the company that I've observed.
Thinking outside the box isn't always a welcomed option (anecdotal).
- Solving an issue by going direct to the person you know whom can solve it is a big no-no, Taking an issue to an higher-up in the company and having them delegate is known to solve a problem faster than asking someone to speak to said person on your behalf, if you're in a lower role in the company, no matter how imperative the solving of the issue is, you are required to elevate the issue through the pay grades. (This is a big dislike for me as someone who wants to move up the career ladder fast, I want to prove my competence and ability to communicate with senior management and solve problems alongside them.)
-Sometimes become burnt out from constant working, Open 7 days a week means you should get used to not having your weekends, but this is normal for site teams, however lack of cover from office staff in certain situations such as on weekends has led to multiple 8-9 days of work with no days off.
