      Run away far, run away fast

      Pros

      as maganger you get paid a decent wage unless you have student loans to pay back, which you will bc they only want college grads for management now. You'll have so many diffcult situations to deal with that on your next job interview you will be able to answer any " tell me about a time when..." questions

      Cons

      bc you have student loans you will still be at home with parents or struggling if you move out on your own, older non-college grad managers try to belittle college grad mgrs bc they think they are trying to steal their jobs. Highly stressful work place upper mgmt horrible people, whole company is a mess

      Pros

      Working at Kmart has been a great growth expeience for me. I've learned much about the career field and my direct supervisors are supportive.

      Cons

      I feel that there is too much "busy" work that has little to no impact on results. Benefits for employees continue to decline and pay scale for new hires is well below the industry standard and not all competitive to attract new talent or retain talented employees. Focus in the stores doesnt seem to be on building sales rather but on complying with programs and deadlines.

      The dedicated employees at Kmart are few and far between, but the ones who are dedicated are hard workers!

      Need more communication between management staff.
