Pros

- convenient location by Penn Station - associate discount - Shop Your Way Rewards is nice - women's clothes selection is nice too - major schedule flexibility - meeting new customers - personal satisfaction when customers are satisfied with their purchases

Cons

While I like my job as an associate working at the cash register, I dislike when the supervisors ask whether or not I met my "goals" (SYWR, Smart Plans, donations, Sears credit card). The funny thing is no one told me about it - I'm a newly hired employee who's been working for 4 days on my own on the register - not even HR, not even when computer training. If that's not crazy enough, there are certain metrics one must meet per shift ($15 of donations, 10 SYWR enrollments, 5 Smart Plans, 1 credit card) or risk being written up. This goal is not only unrealistic but unfair to customers and associates like myself.

Pros

Good pay , steady paycheck. Good vacation time and paid time off.

Cons

New hires will never have the same wages or benefits - 2nd tier system. Low esteem , workers not happy. Numbers game with unrealistic work demands.

Pros

Asking for time off was a breeze. Shifts weren't too ridiculously long (about 6 hours is the longest). And the 10% discount was nice.

Cons

I wasn't scheduled for enough hours. The biggest pain was when multiple managers would tell me to do different things. That stupid Kmart Smart Rewards card was a royal pain...especially since everyone who walked in had one. Not only that, but it was required to sign up two rewards cards minimum per shift...or else take a cut in hours or possibly be fired.
