Pros

It provides employment and the employee discounts can be nice.

Cons

You don't get the feeling that the company cares about you at all. Kmart has a high turnover and it seems almost everyone on the floor, except for managers, are either a new hire or someone who can't get another job and doesn't take their current one seriously.

Pros

Coworkers are usually decent people. Most (70%) of customers tend to be alright. Work environment wasn't completely terrible.

Cons

Management expects a gold standard while paying for bronze. Corporate expectations don't match in-store reality. Store technology is incredibly old and breaks down often, leaving employees in bad positions. No room for advancement, no raises given for several years (with "promises" that it might be better next year.) Vacation is "earned" based on hours worked and not years with the company.
