Pros

- The impact on the kiddos is generational. - Many kind people. - Great partners, and the ability to see the work and the impact on the schools, communities, families, etc. - The "feel goods" from seeing a job well done and understanding the difference we make in the lives of our kids, families and clients.

Cons

- Racist undertones - no racial or cultural diversity at senior levels in the organization, even though a LARGE portion of the "lower level" workers are racially diverse (as are the children and students that are served). - Lack of accountability at the highest levels for poor performance of the business over the past 3-5 years, and an inability to adjust archaic ways of thinking to meet the demands of the new marketplace. - Poor, top-heavy support functions (finance, human resources for instance) who often forget they are "support" functions and seem to continuously try to overly insert themselves in the operations of the business (without actually understanding the operations of the business) in order to justify having jobs.

Pros

The staff I encountered were usually very friendly and helpful at first. After being hired, all new staff was not as pleasant usually.

Cons

In my three years of working here, I saw and reported more issues than I can count of abuse and neglect. There was a continuation of hiring people with little to no knowledge of children and issues that harmed children and families was not abnormal. I stayed because I wanted to fix things for the center in Lancaster Pa on Eden Road but I was eventually driven out when my help was not "good enough." I was placed as a lead and a third in command without the pay during college which exhausted me and I was used until I started fighting back for what I needed as well. Additionally, they claim to be diverse and accepting and are not.
