AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
Pros
Made a handful of friends that I will stay in touch with and had a couple of good opportunities. Office is in a convenient location but they know this is the case, and use this to their advantage to get you to stay longer, as you don't want to have to pay a premium to travel to London.
Cons
- Terrible rates of pay which are consistently lower than the average for the market with justifiable pay rises being refused despite supposedly 'healthy' cash flow. - Inept and confused upper management, who consistently turn a blind eye to the glaringly obvious deep rooted issues within their departments. - Utterly toxic atmosphere with a 'do or die' attitude. - Not enough resource generally to cover the day to day workloads leading to huge backlogs of work but overtime is consistently denied now due to the firm's focus to reduce this at all costs. - Having such unrealistic workloads leads to corners being cut and processes not being followed as they should. To say some of the things being done are shady would be an understatement. - Senior staff with the experience and knowledge get fed up with being treated badly so leave. This has left an inexperienced team who need constant hand holding to get any of their work done, deepening the issue of the work backlog. - Miserable staff who have little to no motivation to complete their work (most likely due to the systematic bullying by upper management). - HR department who do not take allegations against upper management seriously, preferring to sweep these under the carpet and cover their ears hoping the problems will just go away. They have no sympathy whatsoever and cannot cope for whatever reason. - Generally an awful place to work and would not recommend to ANYONE. Avoid at all costs if you value your mental health and wellbeing.
