Pros

I do not have anything positive at this time

Cons

This company is incredibly disorganized, dishonest and misleading to their employees, and unethical.

Pros

Senior Leadership is really with it... They understand that there are some problems with the firm and are working on those problems openly and proactively Senior leaders genuinely care about the work they're doing Company handled the covid crisis with grace: imposed salary reductions not only on everyday staff but also on executive (even targeting higher-level employees over lower-level employees to lessen the impact on everyday lives)

Cons

The practice groups under the firm's umbrella are not very well-integrated and don't work together efficiently or share knowledge effectively. It can be a pain to work on cross-group collaborative projects. The relative performance level of different practice groups is extremely inconsistent: some groups are very impressive, others are complete duds. This performance discrepancy contributes to the difficulties of cross-group collaboration. Development opportunities are also inconsistent: if you're in a bad practice group you may be in a position where you develop relatively nontransferable skills - you really need to advocate for yourself or move to get development. The industry profit seems to be leaving the space that much of Kantar has traditionally occupied: cookie-cutter research can now be done in self-service format by more technologically advanced firms like Qualtrics or even SurveyMonkey. The self-service format is now and will forever be much cheaper than hiring a Kantar team to do your basic research work. This industry development is my primary concern for the firm's future, I'm just not sure Kantar is well-equipped to compete for research projects in the coming decades.

Pros

• Lots of opportunities – Tons of roles around if you have the skills or the drive to learn the skills needed. • Technologically open-minded -- Kantar isn’t shy about using different, cutting-edge technologies, be that for creating new, exciting products or to improve those already in production. • Access to training – Wide access to different types of training and certifications. • Great people – Plenty of people with great skills and industry experience; tons of new faces, helping to bring fresh ideas and strategies to the fight.

Cons

• It’s about the money -- Have no illusions, the company focus is on the bottom line. It’s a for-profit business, so the bottom line is certainly of importance. Just don’t forget that detail and look out for your own best interests along the way. • Fragmented structure – Kantar’s long history of growth through acquisition led to a very fragmented organizational structure. This negatively impacted performance and employee satisfaction. It’s gotten marginally better in recent years, but still feels very disconnected and keeps Kantar from moving as quickly and efficiently as it needs to. • Inconsistent leadership – Good leadership certainly doesn’t guarantee success, but it sure makes success less likely when it’s inconsistent, insincere, fails to inspire, and lacks heart. I’ve witnessed some truly great leaders at Kantar. The type you’d follow anywhere to do anything. Unfortunately, those types of leaders were rare, especially in the Technology space.
