A beautiful campus with great benefits, supportive and genial work environment, and many events to connect with colleagues and students across campus. Fantastic libraries with access to a number of hard-to-find resources from across the world. People around campus are friendly and willing to help.

Cons

Many general-use buildings need modernization or repair. Some buildings are obviously very well-maintained while others lack reliable air conditioning or heating. There is a regular lack of classrooms at the beginning of the semester, which causes headaches for all faculty involved. Parking remains a challenge but there are plans to alleviate this in the coming years.

Lax, plenty of vacation, sick leave. Good health benefits. The work is an amount that can be accomplished without being overwhelmed.

Cons

What you start with is all you get... minimal room for growth. Must meet minimum qualifications for positions to even have your application seen.
