      Great learning environment, management encourages professional development and really cares about each and every one of us.

      Student salaries are...well...low. Would probably make a lot more working for a big tech corporation.

      Mechanical department on the rise

      Pros

      Research options are very open, allowing for lots of freedom. The department is growing rapidly with young professors with increased needs for researchers.

      Cons

      Sometimes it is easy for a graduate student to get lost in research and teaching opportunities and lose sight of a concrete end date for their MS or PhD. I think they were taking steps to lower this risks as I was leaving.
