Pros

Professors are great, very friendly people and welcoming most of the time. Its a small college town to focus on work.

Cons

K-state is not for International s, do not support International students or employee with anything. Management would not take extra effort to help, even though they will have to eventually update, they prefer to be the last one. They do not understand what Internationals have to do to maintain status or make things work. People outside really try to be nice, and the management slams at your face that it is mid-west and they want you out as soon as possible. Pay differ according to the department, so cannot generalize, but some departments have minimum wage.

Pros

Great school and very strong community support and involvement. Really nice if you prefer smaller town living. Topeka isn't very far away for more shopping opportunity and some of the buildings that have been remodeled are very nice. Very supportive staff and faculty at the school.

Cons

Sometimes Manhattan feels a little too small and some of the buildings could use more modernization.

Pros

They recognize that your priority is to be a student, so they work around your classes very nicely. I never had to worry about class conflicts when it came to work.

Cons

Since this is a state school, the politics at the state level trickle down to the school and the employees. Technology is under-valued, and budget cuts are somewhat frequent.
