Pros

Global exposure and client experience. Smaller office environment in smaller states makes it easier to come up with new ideas and get things done. Since becoming one operating model, marketing is very restricted to what Sydney office dictates.

Cons

Toxic culture, lack of leadership, lack of training for managers and confusion around managerial roles. Weak partnerships, token performance reviews, lack of accountability so that senior leaders can get away with being unethical. 'You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours' type of environment, huge favouritism, and it matters who your dad is.

Pros

The compensation is good but not worth enduring the hostile work environment.

Cons

If you see misconduct at KPMG and you report it, you will be punished for it. KPMG talks a good game when it comes to "no retaliation" but they do not follow through. After 7 years at KPMG I reported someone in senior management who had been harassing female employees and provided concrete evidence. Instead of addressing the issue, I received an HR warning and a poor performance review. The same thing happened to other team members who reported these issues. I will be leaving the firm as a result. KPMG preaches "if you see something say something" but what they really mean is "if you want to keep your job, keep your mouth shut". I've never seen such gross incompetence and negligence by an HR department.

Pros

Lots of varied opportunities available to learn if you want to see something new.

Cons

Limited staff, 7 days a week from Jan to Feb on some engagements, perfection is expected, upper management don't understand the day to day challenges.
