Pros

KPMG offers the highest time off in the industry: 25 paid personal days a year. Taking them is not only possible, it's encouraged.

Cons

Managment provides a "sink or swim" attitude to Staff's learning and career progression. If you can make it on your own, you will. If you can't, you'll be gently steered toward "someplace that is a better fit for you".

Pros

Great place to start and build a career. Started out as an associate worked my way up to sr. manager.

Cons

Very long hours during tax season(Jan thr April). Gets really tough if you have a family. The adviosry pratice(FRM) went thru a downsizing for the first time in my career. Not totally a shock but they let go some people I worked with for a number of years. They are making the partner track a little clearer in terms of understanding what one has to do. It used to be sort of a secret. Still is somewhat but they are getting better at communicating how to make it.

Pros

There is not one good reason to work for KPMG, unless you want to commit career suicide. You can find better.

Cons

1. Upper management - Too many levels, unlikely to voice any concerns on how projects are being run. 2. Senior management does not know what senior managers are doing in regards to running the business like a cheap MultiLevel Marketing scheme. 3. For an Audit firm they are not honest as they practice double booking clients, or at least some senior managers. 4. No work life balance - In fact was hired on for 40 hour weeks and then told that we needed to do 50 hour weeks to catch up on work (even though the client was charged for the extra time). This in normal project would be called going over budget or deadlines, this would not be a best practice exercise for companies who want to grow. 5. Not personable - very cold and corporate 6. Sarbanes Oxley is the only thing keeping this company floating.
