Pros

The name looks good on a Resume, and it is good work experience, so learn all you can while you are there.

Cons

No support or training, with 80 hour weeks there is no work-life balance, very high turnover. They give high expectations of a bonus, then give you nothing. Mgt is very disrespectful. They promise high vacation time, but resent any use of it, then complain when you have carry-over days.

Pros

KPMG is a true meritocracy. You are generally judged on the work that you do. There is little politics. KPMG provides employees with the opportunity to grow that is rare. Exposure to clients provides exceptional experience. You work with extremely talented and dedicated professionals. You receive the view into your clients business that is rare. You will see a picture that only executives of the company do. You get to look at their business at a high level and get down into the details as well.

Cons

Hours are, of course, really bad. If you get the on a bad client if may be difficult to get off of the client without be regarded as complainer. Your immediate supervisor has significant say over your performance evaluation; if you have supervisor who is not in your corner you may not be given a fair evaluation. It is very hierarchical, by necessity, but it has it downfalls.

Pros

KPMG provides some of the most diverse and valuable experience you will ever get in any job. The work is intellectually stimulating, never boring and client-facing. Be prepared for extensive travel. The training is good. Having KPMG on your CV gives you a great boost in the job market.

Cons

Work-life balance is extremely difficult to maintain, especially if you are an efficient worker. Clients always come first. There is a large amount of travelling, which can take a toll on personal relationships. As you move up the ranks, the amount of technical expertise needed becomes less as the junior staff generally do the work and management reviews the work. To progress in the management ranks, sales skills are required to bring in business.
