Not supportive

Pros

There isn’t many. I guess 25% discount but that’s again isn’t great and complicated to use

Cons

Was told o would have to work ever weekend. Last minute decision thrown on to management. No support from area manager when asked, emails ignored regularly. Focus more on selling than making sure the customer is happy with their product. Not allowed to test makeup on customers unless it’s just a simple colour match. Not trained in colour matching so employees guess is as good as customers.

Made me finally leave retail

Pros

The staff discount, and that pretty much sums up all the pros.

Cons

I truly would not know where to begin. Firstly, I wish I had believed all the negative reviews before joining Kiko, but I genuinely didn’t believe it would be *that* bad, surely people were exaggerating? They’re not. My time at Kiko was short-lived for a number of reasons, we’ll begin with the little-to-no recognition for any work you do. Nothing you do, the hours you put in, the planning and organising, the stressing and commitment, not a single bit of it is so much as acknowledged. I’ve worked in retail for short of a decade and I’ve never worked in an environment quite like this. The expectations are sky-high for the little appreciation and if your work is appreciated, it’s never to the right person. The team, luckily, is luck of the draw and I hope for anyone who does choose to work for Kiko, your luck is better than mine. You will work longer shifts than expected, you will encounter last minute changes to launches meaning the launch that was supposed to happen in 3-5 days time will actually be launching that day and you will be made to feel no matter what you do it isn’t good enough. Side note: For anyone applying for a supervisor role, i’d ensure the manager will work together with you as a team and have your back before accepting any offers, trust me, you’ll need the support.
