The people who are in the trenches are truly team players and want to do what is right.

Cons

No direct career path. Upper management is the all boys club. No such thing as a balanced home and work life. Low employee moral and upper management does not care. The attitude of upper management is not about the quality and the customer, instead it's about fast and lean. And what I mean is do what ever it takes to get the job done. Low paying for what it is you are required to do. Expect to work long hours and having drive in in bad weather. No such thing as working from home or leaving early.

Pros

Basically a company that's making products we all need. Brilliant science, applied well; we make stuff that creates cleaner air, safer medicines, cheaper and more flexible energy solutions. Huge heritage- we know where we've come from and we're proud of it.

Cons

Lions led by donkeys, with a few exceptions. The leadership is, with a few exceptions, terrified of its own shadow. This then comes through as paranoid, knee-jerk micromanaging rage from certain GMC members downward. There are strong people who resist this, but sadly a great many who don't and simply pass that fearful aggression downward. This should be a great place to work, but isn't.

Pros

Benefits are good. Mobility within the company is possible, but you have to be pals with your manager.

Cons

The "safety culture" is a joke, adopted by the occasional employee at best. GLPs, GMPs, and GDPs are followed only when convenient or if the boss or client is watching. Management is unresponsive and unhelpful.
