Pros

Knowledgeable colleagues, hands on instrument experience

Cons

Work is disorganized, pace is grueling and unrelenting. Mgmt has no work life balance so it is expected that subordinates should not have a good balance either. QC Senior mgmt is inept, as is QC middle mgmt,

Pros

Competitive pay and benefits. Lovely people within the organisation, unfortunately a great deal were made redundant

Cons

There have been some very questionable decisions that have been made over the last few years and a huge number of talented and brilliant people have been lost through redundancy, The company has been broken up and fragmented, and what is left is a shadow of its former glory. The last couple of years of my tenure were very sad and I felt disappointed in the leadership. The leadership were duplicitous and regularly misled employees in communications i.e. they communicated their intent, stance and importantly what they were not going to do, and then did what they said they wouldn't do....more than once. Employees never felt like they were getting the full story, which obviously doesn't build trust!

Cons

JM IT loves to hire external IT project managers to implement projects around JM. They hire project managers don't really do anything except rush the project closed and then provide no additional support when the project is "completed" Updates are pushed to the PRODUCTION environment without testing. JM is all about cutting costs. So much so that new employees aren't even guaranteed an O365 license because they keep running out. So that's fun explaining to new employees how poor we are. Cheaper to have employees doing nothing than shell out for the license I guess. JM will strip things like saving passwords in your browser but won't allow you to use ANY sort of password manager. Excel spreadsheet it is
