Pros

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience working at John Lewis & Partners. The company fosters a supportive and inclusive work environment where teamwork and collaboration are highly valued. Leadership encourages employee development through training and mentoring programs, which have allowed me to grow both professionally and personally. The culture at John Lewis & Partners promotes fairness, respect, and strong customer focus, making it a motivating place to work. I have particularly appreciated the opportunity to be involved in decision-making processes, contribute ideas, and see their impact on improving store operations and customer satisfaction. Overall, John Lewis & Partners is a company that values its people, invests in their development, and encourages a sense of pride and ownership in the work we do. I would highly recommend it as an employer for anyone seeking a challenging yet rewarding career in retail

Cons

Sometimes the workload can be high during peak seasons, which can be challenging, but it also provides opportunities to learn time management and teamwork

Pros

- Newer offices are a nice environment to work in - Working with people who genuinely care about you - Good flexibility (WFH / PT working), my work life balance is good - Good employee perks (discount, events, training etc) - Opportunities to learn and develop

Cons

- convoluted processes and systems, making processes inefficient. I would prefer to be working on strategic work rather than fixing basics - strategy and priorities sometimes unclear - general leadership team comms (eg around recruitment, restructures) are not great - career progression can be limited - high turnover of Exec in recent years which means priorities keep shifting
