      This Industry is Like Family

      Pros

      Good benefits, average wages, lots of free food and other perks. I was one of the lucky ones who got hired when the company was new. They had a lot of money and spoiled us/customers rotten. Morale was great as well. Family taking care of family. I would say that compared to other airlines they are one of the best to work for/travel even with flaws.

      Cons

      Everything went down hill when the original CEO left. The company ran out of money, morale went down and many quit/got fired. I was #4 in seniority by year 4 which made me feel accomplished. If I hadent had an OJI I would still be there. After leaving almost everyone was laid off and went to work for Virgin. The industry is very cut throat so finding perfection is rather difficult. You really have to love working with the public to survive it and I did. I still keep in touch with former coworkers because as I said we are like family.
