Pros

Employees and your direct crew are some of the best people I know. The culture between my fellow pilots, inflight (flight attendants) and gate agents have been nothing but positive.

Cons

The company DOES NOT support their employees in ways that matter. Our health insurance was redone to now we are the least insured airline in the industry actually falling into the window of “underinsured” in the United States. This is for the most expensive and comprehensive plan that the company offers. The company also has been inefficient for years now in terms of scheduling making us one of the most underpaid pilot groups for the amount of work put in. For example a 3 day United trip can bring in 25 hours of credit. Here at JB the same 3 day trip only brings in 15 hours of credit. The initial training is at a wage of 500 a month post tax. This means you will not earn any sufficient income for a few months during your training. NO OTHER AIRLINE DOES THIS. Management looks for any excuse for why the company hasn’t turned a profit even sending us an email saying our carry on bags were “too heavy” and we needed to “pack lighter” to save on fuel cost. This doesn’t even offset the fact that you have to wait at a gate for 45min sometimes burning gas because they don’t have ground crew. Once again it’s all on the pilots. Overall the low moral and poor management are the reasons I would not recommend others to come to Jetblue.

Pros

Interesting work environment, good benefits

Cons

Low pay for location and amount of work. Frequent difficult and aggressive customers. Will be stuck with night shift as a new hire and scheduled 5 days a week even as a part time employee
